Lighting is one of the most important elements in refreshing a space. The advent of LED lighting not only provides better functional light for high task areas (and great energy efficiency) but also offers a plethora of shapes and designs to create interest.

In this kitchen remodel we utilized an oversized fixture to illuminate the large kitchen island, without adding weight or heaviness from above. A more playful fixture above the kitchen table coordinates looks without being overly 'matching'.

Finding a good local lighting showroom is helpful. The ability to get up close and personal with a wide variety of fixtures helps you see firsthand how a light may look in your home, in terms of size, brightness and color temperature.
